Happy Birthday!

Today you turn one year old. This has been the longest and shortest year of my entire life! You have learned so much. A year ago, you only knew how to breathe and sleep. We even had to teach you to nurse, despite the breastfeeding classes that assured us you would instinctively have the perfect latch. I have watched you learn to reach for things, grab them with your whole fist and later with two fingers, throw a ball, smile, laugh, talk (cat, up, Mommy, Daddy, Bubba, Noni, clock), sit, roll over, crawl, flirt, "so big", play, push buttons, turn pages, point things out in books, eat real food, and (thank goodness) nurse like a champ. And so many other things. You literally learn something new every day. Daddy comes home from work asking, "What did my little buddy learn today?"

Mommy and Daddy have learned a lot, too. Most importantly, to always cover up your dinky when changing your diaper!

Later today some of your friends are coming over to play and celebrate your big day. You'll have a great time...you love showing all of your toys to the other children.

We love you so much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  1. Happy Birthday! I remember visiting you in the hospital. You were so small and helpless then. Now you are a big boy who loves to laugh and run! I love you so much and Judah does too.
